March updates

Revision classes
Please complete your revision class booking by the end of the day on Saturday.  If you are having problems with the online system, please email your requirements to Richard, and he will issue you with a log-in to arrange payment.  Please note that after Saturday, any revision class with fewer than two participants will become a normal session for the person who signed up, or be cancelled fully!
Richard’s availability in March and April
There are a couple of day swaps in March and April.  Please check the availability page (link:Availability) to see if this affects you.
Building work on The Moorlands
There is currently a lot of building work on the Moorlands, as the local housing association are replacing the roofing on of all their properties.  The road is passable most of the time, but if you have large vehicles (e.g. 4x4s), or do not like driving through narrow gaps between hedges, vans and equipment, it may be sensible to park on the South access road, or alternatively on other nearby roads, and walk around.  Please avoid parking on the pavements on Sherburn and Sunderland Roads, as this not only can cause access problems, but also severely impedes visibility for other road users.

Reminder: Summer revision “early bird” booking closes soon

A reminder to everyone that early bird booking for this year’s summer revision classes will close in 11 days, on Saturday, 4th March.  At this point, the booking fee will increase, and the rooms for these sessions will be confirmed.
For more details about the classes, please visit Summer revision sessions 2017, and to book visit https://mallard-days.com/shop.
We hope to see you there!

It’s beginning to look a lot like half-term…

Half-term is nearly here… and for some people, it’s nearer than others.
This year, half-term is spread across three different weeks across the Mallard Days area, and as such, there are a lot of changes to Richard’s normal timetable across the next few weeks.
Bonus slots
Next week, Monday (13th) has a couple of free slots at 6pm and 7.30pm in Durham.  Thursday (16th) has slots from 9am to midday, and Saturday (18th) has free slots at 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Monday (20th) has a free slot at 7.30pm, and Saturday (25th) has slots from 3.30pm onwards.
These extra slots might provide an additional opportunity to grasp that difficult concept, or might simply form an extra revision opportunity during the holidays.  If you’re interested in any of them, let me know as soon as possible!
Working towards May and June
Finally, for those students with exams this year, I will be attempting to confirm your timetables all the way up until the exams in the next two weeks, so please have your calendars / diaries ready at your next session.

Session changes, snow and other poor weather

This post is for the attention of existing students only.
This is a gentle reminder to check the availability page of this website on a regular basis, as this shows the times during which the regular weekly timetable is changed.  If you have a session on a changed day, your session will automatically me moved to a slot at the same time on the reserve day indicated.  If you are unable to make this session, let me know by email, and I will see what alternatives are available – it is almost always possible to find a slot on a flexed day.  All flexed sessions are correct in the reminder system, so please ensure that you check your reminder messages carefully.
If you have any information you need to pass on, or have anything you would like to go over in a session, please do not hesitate to use the “comments” box in the reminder emails.  This system is now fully active for your use.
Finally, in the case of poor weather, sessions do take place where possible.  Should I need to suspend all sessions for a day, then these will be rescheduled as soon as is possible.
